Terms of Use — Qur'an

Last updated: 19 September 2026 · Draft (not yet published)

These terms apply to the Qur'an app ("the app"), published by I-SHIM, Inc., 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA ("we"). By installing or using the app you accept them. Contact: info@ishim.app.

1. What the app is

A tool for reading, listening to, memorising and learning to read the Qur'an, with translations and a step-by-step reading course (Elif-Bâ). It is an aid to study; it is not a religious authority. Lesson sounds in the reading course are synthesised (ElevenLabs) and have not yet been checked by a teacher — the app says so on the lesson screen. Always defer to a qualified teacher for pronunciation and rulings.

2. Account

An account is optional. If you create one (Google, Apple or e-mail), keep your credentials to yourself and tell us if you believe your account has been misused. You may delete your account inside the app at any time; deletion removes your cloud progress document, then the account.

3. Content and its sources

You may use this content for your personal study within the app. You may not extract, redistribute or sell the app's packaged content beyond what the underlying licences allow.

4. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break the app's security, interfere with its services, or use it in a way that harms other users or the rights holders of its content.

5. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app and its downloads available, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may add paid features in the future; any purchase will be offered only through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, and nothing you have already learned or recorded will be taken away.

6. No warranty · limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Privacy

How the app handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it (and your account, if any). We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.

10. Changes to these terms

We will change these terms when the app changes and note the date above. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
